Golborne Hockey - SPONSORSHIP

Who are we?

Golborne Hockey Club was established in 1969 after relocating from Crossfields & is one of the friendliest hockey clubs in the Wigan & Leigh area and the North West. As part of Golborne Sports & Social Club, we have fantastic facilities at our disposal with a full sized, floodlit sand based Astroturf, changing rooms & showers, function room & access to other parts of this multi sport club including Football, Tennis & Cricket.

The hockey section currently has around fifty playing members & a numerous bunch of supporters who follow us throughout our endeavours, the majority of which are based in Golborne & the surrounding towns, however there are a few who live further afield in North Wales, Leeds & the Ribble Valley!

The Club currently runs two regular Men's teams who play in league & cup competitions throughout the northern parts of the North West. The Men's first team play in North West Division Eight North & our 2nd XI play in North West Division Ten North. The men's first XI have experienced successful campaigns since 2003, being crowned champions of Division 10 North (2002/2003), Runners Up in Division 9 North (2005/2006) to our current position of 4th place Division 8 North (2006/2007). The 2nd XI has been reformed this season and is an excellent starting point for our promising juniors & novice adults to develop their skills in a competitive league. As you can see by our promotions & achievements, we are a highly ambitious club who want to maintain this forward momentum & require assistance to step up to the next level!

The hockey section has big ambitions & we are in the process of working towards the Sport England Clubmark, which is used by England Hockey as part of their club accreditation programme for clubs with junior sections to recognize a quality club. Clubmark is a single, national standard scheme which was created to give sports clubs with a junior section structure and direction. Being able to demonstrate that issues such as equality and child protection have been addressed gives confidence to parents choosing a club for their children. The foundation for any club is its youth structure, so by encouraging and attracting young members, we are building a strong future for our club. As part of the accreditation scheme, we are given help and advice in developing the skills of everyone involved in the club both professionally and personally.

What Are We Looking For?

Golborne Hockey Club is looking to establish a mutually beneficial and on-going partnership with local businesses. In return for support in the provision of sporting equipment (kit, training wear, equipment), we will use our membership, profile in the community & promotional activities to further our sponsor's appeal in the local area & possibly further afield.

What we have to offer?

With its playing & non playing membership (both from the hockey and other sections in the club) and network of contacts, the hockey section has many benefits to offer a business in the community. The majority of members have grown up in the local area and through their friends and acquaintances have links with every social and economic aspect of the town.

Below is what we could offer as a minimum to our sponsors;

There are a number of options available to anyone who would be interested in sponsoring Golborne Hockey Club. There is a possibility that a sponsor would want to sponsor the Club as a whole and get total access to all of the benefits listed earlier, there is also an option to just sponsor a single team and have some of the benefits.
As you can see, there is enormous room for negotiation for both parties but we are looking for investment, however small, in return for the varying levels of exposure listed above.
